Frequently asked questions
Liora Health is a Georgia-based telehealth practice founded by myself, Rachel Lindell. I provide medical weight loss and coaching to patients located in Georgia and coaching services alone nationwide.
I do, but since I am only licensed as a physician assistant in Georgia, I can only provide medical services for patients in Georgia. For clients outside of Georgia, I provide weight loss coaching services.
No. All visits are conducted virtually, allowing you to receive care from anywhere.
Liora Health is a cash-pay practice, which means we do not bill insurance directly. While that may sound surprising at first, this approach is often more affordable than going through insurance.
Many patients find that insurance plans either:
Do not cover weight loss medications like GLP-1s, or
Require months of prior authorizations, denials, and appeals before approval.
Even when insurance does cover, out-of-pocket costs can still be very high. For example:
A patient with insurance might be charged $1,000–$1,300 per month for brand-name GLP-1s at the pharmacy counter.
At Liora Health, compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide with medical supervision typically costs a fraction of that price (often under $400 per month, including your provider visits and ongoing support).
However, you may be able to use HSA or FSA funds for your care—check with your benefits provider.
Membership pricing depends on the medication and dose. I currently have a promotion through the end of 2025 with huge discounts.
- Semaglutide: Starting at $149/every 4 weeks
- Tirzepatide: Starting at $199 every 4 weeks
Prices vary based on the dose required. I aim to keep you on the lowest effective dose that supports safe, steady weight loss of 1–2 pounds per week.
Your monthly membership includes:
- Four week supply of compounded GLP-1 medication delivered to your home
- Ongoing dose titration and clinical monitoring
- Quarterly telehealth follow-up visits
- Unlimited secure messaging with your provider
- Should you qualify and decide to become a member, your initial consultation fee will be applied to the first month's membership
Basic lab work is highly recommended to ensure safe and effective treatment. Lab fees are not included in your membership and are paid directly to the lab company. Review of lab results is included in your membership.
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) medications are a class of prescription drugs that help regulate appetite, improve blood sugar control, and support weight loss. They work by mimicking a natural hormone in the body that targets areas in the brain involved in appetite and food intake. These medications slow stomach emptying, increase feelings of fullness, and reduce hunger—making it easier to eat less and make healthier choices.
At Liora Health, I prescribe GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®) as part of a medically guided weight loss plan tailored to your individual needs.
We prescribe compounded versions of GLP-1s from licensed U.S. pharmacies. These formulations may include additional ingredients like B12 , B3 or glycine. These additions can help mitigate side effect such as fatigue and muscle loss. We will tailor the compounded medication to your needs. While not FDA-approved, they are commonly used under medical supervision in weight loss care.
Typical side effects include nausea, fatigue, constipation, or decreased appetite. Most improve with time and dose adjustments.
No, you do not need to stay on the medication long-term. In fact, ideally you will make lifestyle changes while on the medication, that way once you wean off you are able to maintain your weight loss. I provide coaching services that can help you thoroughly evaluate your day-to-day habits and work through manageable steps to build healthy daily habits that are sustainable.
